The week of 15-21 August 2016

Well the big day of departure is coming and I'm so excited!! I haven't been to "Oz" since 2000, so I'm really looking forward to seeing family again, eating meat pies and Tim Tams, drinking some VB, and just hanging out.

I will do my very best to get codes and Artist of Day, but I may not be able to hear on time as I'll be 17 hours ahead, and I love ya, but not enough to wake myself out of a deep sleep at 2:30 in the morning, swim?!

I'll be back in Canada on the 1st, but in Saskatchewan for the long weekend, but I'll be better able to hear for codes as I'll only be 2 hours ahead. If YOU hear codes or AotD, please post it on the page for all of us to read.

I'll have our Lotto Ticket on Friday though, so we can still play the dream.

Friday, 12 August 2016, Plus Weekend Update

So I'm leaving for Australia on TUESDAY, so I won't have much time (probably) to do a blog post on Tuesday and by the time I get to Oz, it'll be Thursday. I will do my best to post updates on Facebook and Twitter for sure, but the blog may be spotty only because I'll be 18 hours ahead.

I will get a lotto ticket for the two Fridays I'm away, and I'll post them as usual but I won't be able to check them until I get back in September.

This week's websites are driving me a little mad (short drive, truth be told). Here's what I would say to all the promo people at the stations if I could:

Radio stations on-air say one thing - "between 3 and 4", and the website says another - "between 4 and 5". Let's get our act together, please Q. And that's if they say anything at all! Yes, Kool, I'm lookin' at YOU!!

If you're going to have a webpage that has all the contests you're running then keep it up to date. If you don't want people to know, and you want them to just listen, then don't put anything up at all. The "listen for your chance to win" stuff is growing old - a general time frame would be appreciated. <coughWOLFcough>

And don't even get me started on things sitting on the contests page from a month ago. Srsly? You're THAT busy over at KiSS?

Oh, oh, and if you say you're going to do something at a specific time (thank you for that), please, for the love of all that's holy, do it at that time! If it's more like an "around 7:40" then say that - we'll adjust. If the code is at 4:20, then by God, at 4:20 you'd better be saying it! Don't play another song at 4:19 and make me wait another 4 minutes!! (Yes, Juice, this is my pet peeve from you) I'm often driving and sometimes the radio station isn't strong enough to cut through the U.S. stations we pick up in Victoria.

Want me to keep checking your website every.single.day for updates Wave? *sigh* Ok. No problem. But again, this "listen all day" crap is growing old.

So, to recap: give us a time (morning, midday, afternoon, evening), give us all the information (and make it current please), and make the information correct between online and on-air. Kthanx.
