17 years ago, I had met my future husband on the 4th of September (the days are exactly how they were then, btw) at work. We started dating on the 8th, and by Monday the 10th, the civilian employees at the Navy Base I worked at were on strike. As I approached the picket line the morning of the 11th, I heard on the radio about an airplane hitting a building in NYC. When I walked onto the ship I was serving on, it was like a ghost town. Everyone was in the main cafeteria watching a live feed of the second plane. We muttered to each other, "We're going to war."
17 years ago, North American's lives changed in an instant. Do you remember life before the Twin Towers went down? Do you ever wonder what it must have been like actually IN that situation? Well I can give you a link to a story, told by a survivor known to me. An 'invisible' online friend I 'met' while planning my wedding in 2002.
