Tuesday, 16 May 2017 & Update

For some reason, the radio in my office doesn't get good reception from two of the local Victoria radio stations. These two stations are in the same building and are 'sister' stations. These two stations also play the kind of music I really like, so this means that if I want to listen to anything, most times I have to turn the dial (yes, it's an old ghetto blaster I use at work) to another station which plays music that's just not my groove.

I find it weird that of the 6 stations in town, ONLY these two, who use the same transmitter, are the only ones which are fuzzy and staticky. One comes in and out of fuzz, the other... can't hear it at all.

I don't know what causes this, but it makes me wonder, if these are the only two stations in town that sound like this, what are the other stations doing to boost their signal that these two aren't, and why can't these two stations do the same?

I can't access online as the firewall at my work won't allow media. I don't want to use my data and listen online with my phone, and I don't need more apps. Besides, often contests are run at the same time on different stations, so it's easier for me to just turn a dial. And, I shouldn't have to change how I listen to a station because they can't be bothered to boost their signal so that it ALWAYS comes in clearly.

When the static becomes too much for me to handle, I end up changing stations for a while. I can't see that being a goal for any radio station.
