Week of 6-12 July, 2015

I thought we were at the start of Pompeii or something this morning: a yellow sky instead of blue, ash floating on the air covering everything on the deck (not tons but still...), and a weird silence like even the birds were a little freaked out.

Not a volcano, but haze from all the wildfires on the coast and Island. With no wind and low haze, what was supposed to be a 30+ degree day turned into one where the girls drank hot chocolate and I'm baking (yes, the oven is ON!) cookies.

So for all the new folks who have joined us because I bribed you all with the chance of winning on Fridays - hello! I usually post what the stations have on their websites on Sundays, then update on Monday and throughout the week as they update or I come across new information. I welcome others to post on the Facebook page any codes or secret words they may have heard so the rest of us can join in if we can or want. 

Because the Facebook page is not a business and I'm only in it for the fun, any rude or mean-spirited comments will be immediately deleted and that person will be banned. I am a real person who won't renege on promises, so any posts that say things like, "do you really think this person will do this?" or, "what a scam!" will immediately be gone and so will the person who said it. They can go troll elsewhere.

For those of you who thank me or say, "fingers crossed!", thank YOU for entering into the spirit of the Page and Blog. I know money can't buy happiness but it sure goes a long way to helping the process along!

 

Here's what's up for the week (so far). 

Nanaimo

The Wave wants to send you Glamping at the end of the month. They have a different way to qualify every day of the week: Mashup Monday - a mashup of tunes you need to name the artists and songs; Trivial Tuesday - tell them the trivia answer; Wild Wednesday - 3 qualifiers per show (morning, midday and afternoon); Triple Thursday - if you qualify, you choose 2 friends to qualify with you! The Wolf is taking qualifiers for their weekly VISA . This week is a raft and snorkel with the salmon in Campbell River for two. Be quick - caller 5 gets entered when you hear your cue to call. Kool FM's Kool Mornings this week is still showing last week's dates. I think the regular web person is on hols too because the usual quality just isn't there. When they update, I'll let you know.
