Week of 10 - 16 August, 2015

As usual, the weekend has gone by WAAAAY too quickly. It's almost like I need a vacation from my vacation! Maybe I can win something this week and ease the pain a little.

Now, I'm not... oh hell, yes, I am. I'm a nit-picker. I believe that if someone is paying you to do a job, you do it to the best of your ability. Right? And if you're away, you leave an out-of-office or you pass along information to someone else to do that job. ESPECIALLY when it's something like updating a website. I don't mind when there's NO information posted, but what I don't like is when it's old or obviously copied information with absolutely no effort to change or update what's been pasted. It makes things unclear and to me, it looks unprofessional. I know people are human, errors are made, formatting screws everything up (like on this site, it's a real hassle), etc etc. I GET that. What I don't get, is ANY written correspondence that goes out to the public that hasn't been proof-read. And it's obvious when it hasn't.

Watch me make a ton of typos now...

Here's what they have so far on their websites:

Nanaimo
The Wolf has their last week of VISA trips to qualify for this week. Be caller 5 when you hear the cue to call and get in for an RV 5 day/4 night trip to Pacific Playground. NOTE: The trip must be used either Sept to Mid-Oct OR April to Mid-May. They have nothing else up right now, but I'll update tomorrow afternoon as usual.

The Wave is giving away two Kayaks from Alberni Outpost. It's kind of like "The Price is Right" where you need to know the prices of items at AO. Every morning they'll have a daily shopping cart. Call when you hear the cue, and then tell them what the most expensive item is. On the midday show, you need to tell them which is the middle one (not most or least expensive). In the afternoon, it's the least expensive item you need to know. If you've listened in the morning and afternoon, you'll have it easily. If you don't get in, you can STILL enter by entering them on the form on their website in the afternoon here. PLUS, you can enter at their tent at the VIEX from the 21st - 23rd of August where you can also check out the kayaks. And they're giving away lessons too! This starts on Monday and runs till the 23rd, and they'll draw the grand prize on a MONDAY this time (the 24th). They also have their Retro Lunch and Friday Power Hour going on for the usual prizes.

Coast has their Coffee Break on Wednesday. Enter here with why your workplace deserves it (on the Sunshine Coast only). This is also your LAST WEEK to get in to win one of those Choose Your Own Adventures from them. Each entry is 1000 points, so get them in by the 13th to get in to win. No new trivia or opinion, and the poll deals with the election. The Raffles this week are: Golf Passes to Morning Star (500 points) and Sunshine Coast Festival of Written Arts (2 of them) for 250 points each entry. Nothing in the Free Store right now.

Last but not least, you could bring the whole fam-damily to the Westshore Motocross Family Day with a Learn To Ride pack for 4 on the 20th of August. Win during the evening show.

The Q also has your chances to win the Learn to Ride at the Westshore Motocross Family Day on the midday show. There's also the Rock Door, Polka Monster and Retro A-Go-Go. Keep putting in your dream golf partner to Ryan@theq.fm for your chance to win Monday Men's Night golf passes from Olympic View, AND your favourite song and why to mysong@theq.fm.
