Week of 3 - 9 August, 2015

The family wedding we attended yesterday was a lot of fun. It's always nice to sit and gossip with those you haven't seen in a while. The hotel we stayed in was nice (and expensive, of course), but it wasn't really worth the money. Dial-up internet (!), no coffee filters, and they lost our reservation when we arrived. Things sorted themselves out, but it's the little hiccups that happen that can put a spot on the trip, and when you're paying a lot of money for a smooth weekend... Plus, the resort area we're in is lovely, and there are lots of interesting shops, but if you wear glasses, don't expect any of the stores to have clip-on sunglasses. You need perfect vision to buy sunglasses here. Not to mention, there's no 'sundry' store that sells regular clothes. I needed a pair of underwear (don't ask) and couldn't find anything for under $20 EACH! I don't need a pair that badly, and I'll wait til we're in a bigger town to buy a pack of 3 for $10.
